1. Introduction

New Vision Financial Services ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code, which governs how credit reporting information is collected, used and disclosed by credit representatives like us. This policy applies to personal information we collect through this website, by phone, email, or in person.

2. What information we collect

Depending on your dealings with us, we may collect: your name, contact details, date of birth, employment and income details, assets and liabilities, identification documents, credit history, and information about the property or purchase you're seeking finance for. We collect this directly from you, and — with your consent — from third parties such as employers, accountants and credit reporting bodies.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to assess your credit needs, provide credit assistance, prepare and lodge applications with lenders, comply with our legal and regulatory obligations, and, where you've consented, to keep you informed about matters relevant to your loan or other services that may be of interest.

4. Who we may disclose it to

We may exchange your information with the following types of entities, some of which are located overseas:

  • Persons who provide finance or other products to you, or to whom an application has been made for those products
  • Financial consultants, accountants, lawyers and advisers
  • Any industry body, tribunal, court or otherwise in connection with any complaint regarding our services
  • Any person where we are required by law to do so
  • Any of our associates, related entities, contractors and outsourcing partners, some of which are located in the Philippines
  • Persons to verify the information you have provided, such as your employer, accountant or superannuation provider
  • Any person considering acquiring an interest in our business or assets
  • Any organisation providing online verification of your identity
  • Mortgage aggregators, including Finsure, as the holder of our Australian Credit Licence

5. Credit reporting information

As a credit representative, we may collect and disclose credit reporting information — such as your credit history, repayment history and details of credit applications — to and from credit reporting bodies including Equifax and illion, for purposes permitted under the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code, such as assessing your application and verifying your identity. You have rights under the Code, including the right to request a copy of your credit report and to request corrections to information that is inaccurate.

6. Overseas disclosure

Some of our associates, related entities, contractors and outsourcing partners — who may assist with administrative and loan processing functions — are located in the Philippines. We take reasonable steps to ensure any overseas recipient of your personal information handles it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.

7. How we store and protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including through the use of secure systems and restricted access to client files. We retain information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

8. Access, correction and complaints

You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you by contacting us using the details below. If you believe we have breached the Privacy Act or the Privacy (Credit Reporting) Code, you can lodge a complaint with us in the first instance. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may escalate your complaint to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) or the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) — see our Complaints & Disputes page for details.
