Finsure is ultimately owned by BNK Banking Corporation Limited, trading as Goldfields Money (Australian Credit Licence 246884). We only ever recommend the credit product we believe is best for your circumstances — if that happens to be a loan from BNK/Goldfields Money, we'll specifically disclose that ownership relationship to you again at the time.
2. Services we provide
Our credit assistance services include:
- Discussing your objectives, requirements and financial situation to understand what you're trying to achieve
- Researching and comparing loan products from lenders on our panel
- Providing you with information and a recommendation about one or more loans that may meet your needs
- Assisting you to complete and lodge your application, and compiling supporting documentation
- Liaising with the lender during assessment and keeping you informed of progress and outcomes
- Assisting with the finalisation of your loan through to settlement
3. Our obligations to you
Under the NCCP Act, before suggesting or assisting you with a particular credit product, we must make reasonable enquiries about your requirements, objectives and financial situation, and take reasonable steps to verify that information, so that we don't suggest, or assist you to apply for, a loan that is unsuitable for you. We'll provide you with a written Credit Proposal or Quote setting out this assessment before you're required to enter into a loan contract. If we provide credit assistance, you can request a copy of our preliminary credit assessment for up to seven years afterward.
We don't provide financial or legal advice, and don't make any representation about the current or future value of any real estate financed through us — you should always rely on your own enquiries and, where needed, independent advice.
4. How we are paid
In most cases, we do not charge you a fee for our services. If a fee does apply — for example for a specialised service outside our standard credit assistance — it will be disclosed to you in a Credit Quote before you apply for finance.
We may receive a commission from the lender that provides your loan, which is not a fee payable by you, along with additional commissions or bonuses relating to the volume of finance we arrange (these can't be quantified in advance). Full details of the commission earned on your specific loan will be provided in your Credit Proposal Disclosure Document before you apply. We may also pay referral fees or commissions to other businesses — such as call centre companies, real estate agents, accountants or solicitors — for referring you to us; these aren't fees payable by you, and any such arrangement relevant to your referral will be disclosed in your Credit Proposal Disclosure Document.
5. Our lender panel
We have access to a panel of 65+ lenders, including major banks, second-tier lenders and specialist lenders. We do not recommend products from every lender on our panel for every client — our recommendation is based on your specific circumstances and the lenders reasonably available to us for your situation. A current list of panel lenders is available on request.
6. If you have a complaint
If you're unhappy with any aspect of our service, raise it directly with us first. We'll acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and write to you once our investigation is complete with the outcome and reasons for our decision. If we're still investigating after 45 days, we'll write to explain why and let you know when we expect to finish. See our Complaints & Disputes page for the full process and details of the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA), our external dispute resolution scheme.
